Friends of Plum Island

FOPI’S MISSION is to help protect, restore, steward, and promote the natural, ecological, historic, cultural, and scenic resources of Plum Island by connecting regional communities with those responsible for managing and safeguarding all of Plum Island’s assets, and to advocate for the various aspects of Plum Island and its surrounding waters, including, but not limited to, its species of flora and fauna; its ecological natural communities; its soils, geological deposits and formations, and topographical features; its Native American cultural heritage, remains, artifacts, and sites; the Plum Island Lighthouse and surrounding setting; the many diverse components that collectively comprise Fort Terry as well as the associated Orient Point marina and related properties.
